What is the ISF?
The Imaging Science Foundation is an independent authority on picture quality, they test manufacturers’ visual products rigorously and they have the most accurate calibration standards in the industry. Holburn HiFi is an ISF trained dealer which means that all the visual products we sell are made to give the best possible picture quality after calibration.
What is Screen Calibration?
Screen calibration is a full setup procedure that will allow the visual display to produce the best picture available with your chosen video sources. We use highly sophisticated computer software with a hi-tech pattern generator and colour measuring devices to adjust the settings on your display. Once calibrated the screen’s colour balance will be as close to what your eyes see in real life as possible.
How can this service improve my picture and display’s life?
When a new screen is unboxed the picture is designed to look instantly impressive when positioned next to other sets in brightly lit showrooms, unfortunately, this means that the component parts are stretched to their normal reliable limits and the picture will look unnatural, too bright, flat and grainy. This will reduce the life of a set and cause premature screen burn on CRT and Plasma TV’s, a bright and unnatural picture will strain your eyes and make watching the set tiring. When the picture is set up correctly, the depth of 3 dimensional images will increase and the dynamics of the picture will improve giving more realism to your picture and make it easier to watch.
Connections and Setup
When we calibrate your screen we will check and adjust the settings on your Satellite receiver, DVD player and other sources to make sure that every device is performing at its best. We will also advise on the best connections to your display and A/V system and suggest ways of improving your system as a whole.
