WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) and Recycling

Under a directive of the European Parliament all Member States are required to minimise the disposal of WEEE to landfill and to achieve high levels of collection of WEEE for environmentally sound treatment

Why should we recycle?
Over 75% of waste electrical goods end up in landfill, where lead and other toxins contained in the electrical goods can cause soil and water contamination.


How does Holburn HiFi contribute to recycling?


Holburn HiFi has joined the DTS (Distributor Take back Scheme) – in doing so we have contributed financially to recycling instead of taking old equipment back for disposal. The DTS fund is used to assist in the provision of recycling at Local Authority Recycling sites.

Electrical and Electronic Equipment that was made after June 2006 should display this symbol on the packaging or product. Either send the product to be repaired and reused or use the bank locator to find where it can be recycled.
